Kainoa Kai was first seen on the manta night dive at Manta Heaven on March 29, 2014 and identified by Ryan Leinbach. She was about 4-5 feet across. Her right cephalic is damaged.
Kainoa Kai was curious but stayed on the outside of the light circle for most of the evening feeding.
She is named after Stevie Kai and Briggs Kainoa Muensterman. Their dad David is an ocean enthusiast and worked on the manta swims for several years.
